Here's how we choose where to invest: Paolo Pescetto

RedFish LongTerm Capital (RFLTC), a reality founded in 2020 by Paul Fishbone, Andrea Rossotti and the Bazoli Gitti family, confirms its leading role in theinvestment in Italian SMEs, innovative startups and pre-IPO stage companies. To date, RFLTC has already invested millions of euros in the'Italian real economy. Pescetto has invested approximately 200 million euros, of which over 120 million in equity projects and 70 million in minibond subscriptions.
“We don’t limit ourselves to startups,” explains Paolo Pescetto, president of RFLTC. “We are also active in the segment of small cap, but today we also support companies with over one million euros of EBITDA. It is a strategic Growth segment on which we pay great attention”.
The holding, listed on Euronext Growth Milan, adopts a long-term industrial investment model. The approach is based on Qualified participations, both majority and minority, in companies with strong growth potential. Not only capital, but also know-how and managerial skills to support scalability.
“Our model is different from traditional funds. We have no exit constraints and we accompany companies over time, even towards listing on the stock exchange,” Pescetto specifies.
Focus on entrepreneurs and growth sectors
The selection of target companies is based on qualitative and industrial assessments. “Let's look at the entrepreneurs, their vision, their execution capacity and the solidity of the company. We aim to create value and synergies between the subsidiaries”, continues Pescetto.
Two sectors that RedFish is strongly targeting are:
-
Artificial intelligence: “It is a sector that works today, not just tomorrow. We have already invested and will continue with new targeted acquisitions.”
-
Defense: “Medium-sized companies in the defense sector are showing constant growth. We are evaluating operations in this strategic sector.”
A portfolio of Italian excellences
In the RedFish wallet there are leading companies in their respective sectors:
-

RFLTC also supports businesses on their journey toIPO and theopenness to capital. “We support companies that are only now deciding to open up to capital. Transparency and governance are key levers,” adds Pescetto.
The future of investments in Italy
For Paolo Pescetto, the Italian investment landscape is changing:
“Yes, it's true, we are also growing in credibility. We are not just speculation. We are entrepreneurs investing in other entrepreneurs. And this is a difference that counts.”
